    Hi, here's the deal:

I have a t400 that came with vista. I also installed ubuntu on it.
Everything was fine for 2 years until vista got broken and I couldn't boot vista anymore.

I tried to use the f11 rescue and recovery option, but found it gone.

So I decided to try the "xp clean install" guide on this forum. Everything went fine, I installed xp, But its not working as well as vista. I need vista back.

Is there any way for me to install vista using rescue and recovery? (i still have that partition).
I didn't make recovery media disks.

I tried reinstalling the rescue and recovery software (for xp); I got the f11 option back, but when I select it, it takes me to the grub menu!

I also tried to edit the grub menu and add an option for the rescue and recovery partition, but when I boot and select that option i gett a message saying:

"BOOTMGR is missing, Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"
