I purchased an Lenovo T61 for $1300, however, the laptop is nothing but a junk. Uneven gap between screen and palm rest after it's closed, screen and bezel aren't glued and sealed properly causing a light leakage, loose screw kept falling out of the hole at the bottom of the laptop, worse of all, it doesn't boot at all. no screen, only fans turning. Tech support is useless. I wanted to return the laptop and leave Lenovo so I can move on and get a much higher quality laptop like HP's. Right now Lenovo won't accept ANY returns without 15% restocking fee (which in my case is approx. $200), unless the laptop has sent to service dept for repair and service dept confirms that the laptop is not repairable. Is there anyway that I can avoid the restocking fee? What happened to satisfaction guarantee? I just don't understand why there are still so many Lenovo fans when such company doesn't respect and rip money from their customers.

Man I LOOOOOVVVVEEEE MY T61!!!

your best bet to avoid the restocking fee is to say it came damaged...perhaps a supposed crack in the screen?

Does it have the c2d cpu whine? Seagate hdd clicking? If so, call up tech and have them start up a case, then call up returns and have them get in contact with tech. Tech will tell them that all the internals will have to be replaced and they will waive the 15% fee since it will be cheaper than trying to fix it. Worked for me anyways.
Restocking fee???
