I would like to get this confirmed before I place a new order, if someone has experience or is knowledgeable:

After I received my ThinnkCentre desktop a few days ago I wished I had configured it slightly different. When I called Lenovo, the rep told me that if I place a new order, then I can return this previous order WITHOUT being charged the 15% restocking fee. She said I just need to call back to request return while providing the new order number, then can ship the return with free shipping label, and restocking fee will be waived even though it's my own change of mind.

Could someone confirm this is indeed how they practice? Thanks!

Another rep confirmed but said the new order has to be of equal or greater value than the one to be returned.

I suggest you get it in writing--ask the rep to e-mail it to you. That way if they try to back out, you have something to work with.

Just to confirm that I placed new order at higher price and shipped back the previous one. Was told no restocking fee and refund will be credited when they receive the return.

There is a chance that I may place a 3rd order and return the 2nd one, hope they make it smooth for me. Obviously the 3rd will have to cost even more  .
