The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Restore CD's...

    My previous Thinkpad X40 had an option to create a set of backup CD's to restore the computer to factory conditions beside using the backup program on the hidden partition.

    My new Thinkpad X41 doesn't seem to have an option to create the backup CD's or if it does, I can't seem to find the option.

    Anyone know how to do this? I probably will not ever need them, but it's nice insurance to have in case the hidden partition craps out.
