    Go to this link

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=144783

Step one explains how to make a set of recovery cds. if you have XP you will have to find the place on your computer where to make them.

after you make the cds. and do a recovery from them, you should have no problems from removing the partition. The same post will tell you how in the faq section.
