Ok I got my Y430. And I want to do a clean install of Vista Home Premium. But no disks came with the laptop, so where the heck are the files to do a clean install???

I'm guessing you'll have to burn them yourself.

At least on the Thinkpads, it's on the "Lenovo" partition (Q, on my T500). Double click the partition and it will let you burn a set of disks.

But those are the recovery disks, not the OS disks that are needed for a clean install. No OEM includes those disks anymore.

If you want you can back up your activation using ABR, obtain a copy of Windows Vista, install the version that came with your computer (Basic, Premium, etc), and then restore your activation using ABR.

PM me if you need info on where to obtain a copy of Vista.

On IdeaPads, you have to create the initial backup with OneKey Recovery 6.0. Then you create the recovery disks which will contain this backup.
The only problem is if you resize the Windows partition or the hard drive quits, the recovery disks will not work.
I would actually recommend creating a backup with Acronis True Image.
