Several years ago I was basically given a laptop by my company - a T22 (Pentium III). They were transitioning to Dells and didn't have any use for their older ThinkPads, so I got to just keep it. It's been sitting gathering dust for a couple of years, and I can't even find the power supply. However, assuming I can locate a compatible power cord, what's the best way to wipe the hard disc and start over? I'd like to play with this T22 with 1) maybe some DOS for old time's sake, 2) Windows XP or even 3) Ubuntu.

    Any suggestions welcome.

If your model has 1GHz CPU and 512MB RAM, even the latest Ubuntu will run smooth ;)

Thanks for the feedback. The T22 has Windows 2000 on it, and I think 512 MB Ram, although I haven't booted it up since maybe 2006. I've forgotten my password, so I'll try to boot into DOS to reformat it that way, perhaps. Now where did I put that power cord...?

It's a good machine, and should do pretty well for playing around with either Linux or DOS. Really good, durable, classic systems. The only problem I could see with mine is that those old PIII Coppermine processors run really hot, especially in comparison to the mobile processors offered these days.
