I ordered my T61 with the 1440x900 screen, and when I bought it with this option it automatically blocked out the option of having a webcam. I've seen T61 bezels on eBay with the webcam cutout, so is it possible to buy a webcam, new bezel, and retrofit it to my Thinkpad? Where would I be able to get an OEM webcam?

You're dealing with Lenovo. If you were dealing with Dell, I would have talked to the service reps and work out a way that I can send it in for an upgrade. I'm sure you can purchase it and maybe attach it, but I'm not sure how the connections will work out. You can try, but there are no guarantees without someone else having to open their T61 bezels to poke around inside.

I have seen this attempt with other makers such as Dell and it is not the most cost effective and easy task. Generally in the end it was concluded it is cheaper and easier just to buy an external webcam.

Well, the bezel with webcam cutout can be had for around $20-30. Does anyone know the Part number and make/model of the webcam that is used in T61s?
