I just got a t61 with the 15.4 wsxga+ and I do not like the display. First, the resolution is way too high. I have bad eyes and it's killing me. I thought I could just increase the dpi or resolution, but those fixes have been unsatisfactory so far. In truth, I also dislike the widescreen, and wish I would have gotten one of the 14.1 standards before they quit making them. What are my options now? Is there any way to get around the restocking fee if I want to get the lower resolution screen? I have a Samsung screen, if I complain about that and ask for an LG, would they allow me to change resolutions too? Also, I really don't like the stupid widescreen - is there any way to get my hands on a standard if I'm willing to pay the restocking fee?

    Thanks,
    Mark

If the notebook isn't offered as standard, you cannot just 'ask' for it. Also, they won't be able to replace the parts with different specs either...

Most of the standard screens were sold with SXGA+. A 14" standard is only slightly taller than a 15.4" so the text size will be about the same. There's none now, but they had a bunch of standard screens in Lenovo's outlet store.
