I placed the order on 1/27/8 and I received it on 1/29/8. Pretty stinking fast huh? Here is what I bought:
T61p
2.2ghz
WUXGA (Samsung)
1gb Ram (stock)
80gb HD (stock)
Wireless a/b/g/n
Wireless USB
Bluetooth
Fingerprint Reader
9-Cell Battery
4yr depot warranty
$1,685.00 shipped
Then I bought a Hitachi 7k200 100gb and 2 x 2gb Ram for a total of $180 from Newegg (shaves off at least $300 and guarantees a 7k200 model).
Overall, I'm very very impressed. Though I wasn't ready for the font size. Holy crap is 1920x1200 small! Well, lucky thing is that I have good eyes, though it is annoying switching back-and-forth from my desktop 21" at 1600x1200 to this. My eyes have trouble adjusting. Plus, with this resolution I have to sit somewhat close to the screen. But nonetheless, I'm happy.
Also, I ended up with the samsung panel, but I have no complaints. It's flawless in my eyes and I have an eye for detail.
One more thing. I suggest any buyer (of any laptop for that matter) pick up a spyder2express color calibrator. My screen had a very noticable blue tint to it, but once I calibrated the color, it's flawless.
