After I installed 4 gigs of RAM my Ricoh card reader hasn't been working correctly.

When I put a memory stick in it just tells me that I have to format the stick before using it.

I try formatting it but it just ends up saying that Windows could not complete the format.

Any idea on what to do?

Your post is a little confusing. RAM doesn't go in a card reader in goes in slots inside the machine. In that an agent is trying to format this means that it looks like a disk to the sytem.

I had the same issue with windows vista ultimate 32 bit edition...I installed a few drivers, restarted my machine and was getting the exact problem whenever I inserted my magic gate memory stick.

After a few hours of fussing around, I gave up and did a recovery.......which got my bluetooth stereo working as well :-D

I used the Rescue and Recovery disks to reload my OS back and now the memory sticks work.

Except for one. But I'm just going to assume it's fried because it's not even working on my camera.

So now I'm going to do a clean install and see what happens...

So it worked when I reloaded it back to factory defaults. But I just did a clean install and now it won't work.

Too much hassle and not worth reloading factory defaults again.

    I'll live.
