Bought my y50 about 15 months ago. Randomly in the past month, my 'Z', 'A', 'Q', '1', and 'TAB' keys have been inconsistent in working. Some days they will work fine, other days not at all, some days it work on and off every minute. And when one key isn't working, the rest of them in this column aren't either.

considering I've done everything basic (reinstall drivers, update bios, restart, verify it doesn't work in safe mode, etc), it seems the issue is internal?

    what I'm asking is:

-how daunting is it to repair this myself? I have found no videos of a y50 keyboard installation and I'm a repair novice.

-since I'm JUST out of warranty (it expired 8/3), how much should I expect to have this repaired? how long does it typically take?

-if I extend my warranty ($129) will this cover all repairs/parts?

I'm really peeved since there weren't any spills or anything... I assume the hardware is just failing?

No other issues with the computer at all, so I sorta HAVE to get it fixed.
