I've had a T400 for less than a month now and the rubberized coating on the mouse button is already starting to wear off. It doesn't affect the operation, but it's kind of frustrating that a three week old labtop looks older than my T42p. Anyone else have this problem? Is the T400 the first to have rubberized mouse buttons?

Odd. I've never known ThinkPads to have rubberized coatings on the mouse buttons. Heck, the T400 doesn't even have it on the palm rest, does it?

It isn't quite like the rubber on the outside I don't believe. Sort of like a Teflon over the mouse button? Mine shows some wear on my x200. I think it really depends on your oils.

Sure? Everyone produces oils, my keyboard and left mouse button have some gloss sort of look on it from the oils from my skin. And your own oils can have different effects of how much it might wear on something. It is just natural...
