I'm this close to getting a T14 very soon, with the AMD 4650U cpu. Simple question: can I easily hook up the same monitor I'm using at my desktop (24" ASUS, just a budget IPS monitor) to the T14. Easily as in, the integrated graphics is powerful enough to give me 1080 resolution, not for gaming, just for viewing and work.
What are the downsides of doing this? I've never done this on my ancient W520 and T430 but I'm figuring it's 2020 and the T14 can handle it. Does having an external monitor put strain on the cpu in ways I'm not considering?

Depending on what connections your Asus has you may have to buy a new cable to hook it up, but this should not cause you any difficulty.

The ASUS has a HDMI so I'm guessing it's just hooking up to the HDMI 2.0 port on the T14. My question is more about added stress on laptop components sending the video output to a 24" external monitor. Does it heat up the cpu causing premature throttling, ya know, stuff like that I need to be aware of.

It won't matter one lick.
