    Hello all,

I've been scouring the web trying to find out if in fact the Lenovo Ideapad S10 is identical in size to the S9. I know the two screens differ (10.1" vs 8.9") but it looks (and I've read) that it's only a bezel difference and the actual body of each machine is identical in size. Can anyone confirm if this is true?

    Thanks kindly

Correct, as with the HP Mini 1000 where you can order either a 10.2" screen or 8.9" screen the only difference in the chassis is the screen size -- with the smaller size they just put a thicker bezel around the screen to fill it out.

That's great news! All this time I was looking at the 9 thinking it was more svelt, but in reality the 10" will be better for me. Awesome.

I'm curious how it stacks up to the Dell Mini 9... Time to do some sleuthing.

    Thanks Andrew!

It is a no brainer then which to choose, isn't it? Unless the S9 is half price of S10

There is a small discount, but I would say the S10 is better.

However, I think both of them have the same 1024x600 resolution, and the S9 may get slightly better battery life due to the smaller screen.

I just got the Black S10 with 512Mb of memory and 80Gig Hdd since I had a spare 160Gig hard drive and a stick of 2Gigs memory already and I love it. I installed my hard drive and memory and did a clean install of Vista Business and it is working great and I am very happy with it. I left the original hard drive alone in case I want to use XP on it later but I prefer vista. :D :D :D :D
