Am I the only S10 owner who can't figure out...
1. what the gesture commands are for the touchpad?
(no real instructions in User Guide or on Synaptics website)
2. how to use the camera?
Here is the total complete info given in the User Guide:
"Using the Integrated Camera"
"With the built-in camera, you can take photos or movies and use with various applications, such as MSN or Yahoo! Messenger, and so on"
THE END
There is a function key that seems to turn the camera off. But if the camera is otherwise on, there is no indication whatsoever about what it does or how to do it... no other function keys, no buttons, no icons- nothing in the Control Panel under Scanners and Cameras.
The User Guide looks like it was written before they had a real product. On the Lenovo website, the S10 User Guide is just a PDF of the printer's proof -- crop marks and all-- of the sadly inadequate documentation that I already have
Can anybody help?

Still need info on the touch-pad.
I stumbled across some primitive camera controls when snooping around Explorer. But could still use some real instructions on this too.
Is this how it's supposed to be?

The only gesture I am aware of on the S10 is the pinching motion to zoom pictures or webpages.

Thanks-
Do you know what that grey disc-shaped symbol is that shows up around the pointer sometimes? What makes it happen and wht do I use it for?
What makes the screen zoom up or down sometimes and how to I make this happen on purpose?
Why is it so hard to find this info? -
The disc symbol is the power scheme. You can change the scheme for more performance at the expense of battery life and vice versa.
What is making the screen scroll up and down is when you slide your finger along the right edge of the touch pad. This works the same way as the wheel on your mouse. -
Aha! Thanks! and thanks again!
Now where did you get this information?
(not sure we're talking about the same disc symbol. I'm referring to a disc that pops up on the screen attached to the pointer. If it's the power scheme, how do I use this?) -
Sorry I thought you were referring to the task bar. The disc symbol that appears around the pointer usually happens when your computer is reading a disc in the CD Rom drive. Since your S10 does not have a cd rom drive I do not know why that is happening other than the fact that it might be a shared network drive over the network?
The information on the scroll for your touchpad can be found by going to the mouse settings in control panel.
