    Yellow,

I just wandered if anybody had or is having the same issue than I.
I had previously an 4gb SDHC card in my card reader slot used for readyboost.
    This was working great.

Since i installed Vista SP1 my computer hangs on the shutting down message if i have the readyboost feature active. If i remove the card when it's hanging sometimes the HD wakes up and the computer shuts down.
If i don't use at all readyboost, i get no problem. I tried formating the SD card again but no change.

My Boss who has also a T61 as I is having the exact same issue. He is using his t61 with the original preloaded Os and software. I had mine fresh installed by following the guides on this forum.

Any idea how to solve the issue ?

Ye, I have the same problem too, I think it's the card reader, some times it can't recognize there is a card inside the laptop. I tried to figure out for ages, and endup give up the idea of using readyboost.

Works fine for me, factory install with base Vista upgraded to SP1 before I tried the SDHC so I don't know if anything changed.

    Have to tried the following,
    1) Turn off readyboost
    2) Format the card
    3) Eject
    4) Reboot
    5) Insert card
    6) Re-enable

It could be something funny in the readuboost that the upgrade doesn't get along with.

Yep Tried all that. did not change a thing.

I remember also when installing sp1 after reboot the install hang hours on step 3 without moving. I don't know why i ejected the sd card and the installation completed successfully.

There is screwy going on with mine. Basically I have the same issue, it only took me a few vista installs to narrow down to what. Now when I try to format my 4gb sdgc card ultra II, windows is unable to complete format. What the crap?

I just tried a 4GB Class 6 SDHC card (cheap one though) in my R61. It takes an eternity for the cache to be built just to get destroyed on every shutdown and recreated again on startup. It simply doesn't stick. The reason that makes me think it's a bug is that with a 1GB MS Pro it doesn't get re-created every time.
