Hello fellow Thinkpad users! I've noticed an update that wants to install SHAREit on my e530 recently. Apparently, this is a BT- and internet use-free method of file sharing. sounds ok, but I can't help wondering about this programme in terms of data security (can you turn it off? how do you know when it's transferring?) and whether it might slow my laptop down. Alternatively, are there significant advantages to using it rather than more conventional file sharing? do you ever use it, or is it easier to just use BT or whatever?

For disambiguation purposes, I'm talking about SHAREit by Lenovo, not the mobile app (although they might be the same thing, I don't know). TIA for replies :)
