    Currently thinking about getting a SL500, but have read both good and bad about them. Obviously, it is slated to compete with Dell’s Vostro so that is my other choice. Tell me the good bad and ugly about your machine….how is the quality, screen and would your recommend it? Thank you.


    Yes....I know it's not a "real" Thinkpad.

    But it fits my needs....not a true consumer book like the Y....it has Thinkpad attributes spillproof keyboard, HD protection, Thinkvantage software and trackpoint.

    Might be even better to get a Dell Latitude E6500 from the Dell Outlet. You get excellent service and warranty and a better machine for the same price.

    I've been checking the Dell outlet for a good E6500.

    Isn't the SL500 thicker than the R500 though? Both are 15" screens
