i would say the 9300m would be a lot better if you wanted to game, the intel gpu wouldnt do so well in that, but you would have more battery life

As far as gaming performance goes, the X4500 will do about 70% of what the 9300M will do.

And we are talking about demanding games here? The truth of the matter is that i dont do much gaming at all, If anything i play Starcraft and emulators, and watch some movies.

Then you'll be fine with the 4500.

The 4500 is very good for video playback. It accelerates video decoding, and I was able to play back high bitrate 1080P AVC video (basically blu-ray) just fine on my x200 with a GMA4500 and the processor set to slow. The 4500 is also DX10 compliant, so games are playable, but some of them may render slowly. Emulators and the original starcraft will obviously run fine, because they don't even use a graphics processor. Starcraft II may also run adequately, but because it is as yet unreleased, it is impossible for me to say how well it will run.

In most cases I think you are better off with the GMA4500. The NVidia 9300 is not much better, but it does cost more both in terms of $$ and watts (reduced battery life). Correct me if I am wrong, but I do not believe that the SL has switchable graphics. If you want a combination of graphics performance AND battery life, you are much better off with the T400. The Radeon 3470 is much faster than the NVidia 9300 for games, and you can seamlessly switch to the GMA4500 for desktop applications/video and thus save on wattage.

Great, one last question, before i buy this laptop. Will the SL300 hold to the Lenovo durability. I know that in the review it is mention that there are some compromises in the quality, but are they major?
