SL300 missing expresscard support

Just received a new SL300. It has an expresscard slot. But PCMCIA adapter is not showing in the device manager. And when an expresscard device is inserted, nothing is happening. I tried a lexar 8G expresscard SSD that is working in other laptops.

Can other SL300 owners confirm the same observation? Or is my SL300 defective? I called lenovo tech support (they are in GA). And they were clueless. They said SL300 is very new and they could not find much information. They gave me a case number and promised to call me when they follow up on this.

 

Just make sure that its in all the way. I had the same problem with my Pcmcia slot on my t61. I put the card in and nothing happened. For some reason i really had to force it in until it seated the card all the way in. So far its been fine. Just a thought.

But I pushed too hard. Now I am having difficulty taking it out.

 

Ya i had a hard time taking mine out as well. But after a few times it did loosen up a bit. Not sure why, but a few others have had difficulty with there slots as well. I checked on lenovo and i couldn't find anything on this issue.
