    SL300- supports DDR2-800, correct?

    I know the SL300 is configured with DDR2-667 RAM. But the chipset supports DDR2-800, if someone was doing an after-purchase upgrade...right?

    i got a good question also
    DDR2-667 RAM and the ddr2-800 RAM what different will it make with same ram capacity ?
    2GB DDR2-667 RAM and 2GB ddr2-800 RAM ???

    800MHz is ~19% faster than 667MHz but this speed increase will not translate to a 19% increase in overall system speed.   the actual difference will be closer to 2~3% if even that much.   the only applications where you will notice this difference are in memory-intensive ones (mathCAD, for example).   your system will not seem any faster booting, shutting down, running office apps, emailing, browsing the web, using photoshop, playing games, or whatever else you do.

    put the money in an SSD if you want more speed.   that's a place where memory will make a noticeable difference. ;)
