    Hi!

I managed to kill my SL510's panel and I'll be getting a new one. But while I'm doing that, I was wondering if I could upgrade the 1366x768 panel (AUO B156XW02 V.3) to a 1600x900 one (like it's used on the L520).

I couldn't find any used L520 panels though, but a few T510/520/530 and W510/520/530 ones. Would those work? The connector seems similar enough, but is it actually electrically compatible? Can the device even recognize panels with other resolutions? (I remember a problem where the data cable to the panel was not inserted correctly and the panel was recognized as 1280x800 instead. This hints at the possibility of other sizes being supported)

You can find the SL510 FRU number and find one that way. Most LED panels will work if the connectors are the same, in my experience the worst that can happen is the brightness will not work properly, but this has gotten much better with LED over CCFL. Do they have SL510s with 900p screens?

See this german thread (maybe you can use google translator?): ThinkPad-Forum.de They managed to put a FHD Display from the W520 into the SL510. To do that, you need an HD+ Display-cable from the L520, the FHD panel and you have to flash the EDID of the display through Linux. Just read the thread.
