I believe that is the Samsung SLC.

I think only Lenovo can tell you that with certainty.

I believe that 1.8" Samsung 64GB SLC drives were denoted as 44C5212 SBB 64GB SOL.ST,DRIVE,SER.ATA previously.

If you find out what type your drive is, please post here.

It seems like Lenovo may now be shipping 64GB SLCs in some of their T/W series laptops. If you took advantage of the $249 upgrade deal than it is likely you will get a MLC drive. You should call and ask Lenovo to make sure.

One thing is for sure: as consumers we should really demand that sellers specify which kind of SSD is being sold. All SSDs are not the same and sellers are clearly aware of this. They should at least specify MLC or SLC the same way that they know they have to specify RPM for a HDD.

You are right Jackboot! They do the same with many other components... it's quite irritating!

May be it's more convenient for them not to specify, it's business :)

Well, I guess as long as the MLC SSDs that they are using don't have the dreaded JMicron controller that causes horrible freezing, then I am probably OK with it. I'll take the cheaper SSD prices that MLC can bring. I plan on getting a 3 year warranty regardless, so it doesn't really matter to me if the MLC lifetime is a bit shorter than SLC...
