Are you guys seeing real world benefits with SSD Hard Drives ?
    Boot times, battery life ?

Figuring out the pieces to the puzzle for the T61.

On my Sony TZ90, I have seen slightly faster boot times and battery life, however I've got these occasional *mini freezeups* *mini lags* that are annoying as h$ll but I have not taken out the time to debug them. Various threads tend to suggest the bug is Vista and the interaction of it with the SSD drives...

It depends on the applications you use most. Drive intensive apps will beneift obviously. But with things like Office apps, you won't see much difference. Boot and shutdowns will be faster. And with no moving parts, they are less prone to environmental conditions. I weighed this decision it last month. The cost outweighed the benefits. In another year or two, prices will fall, drive capacity will go up, and it will be a closer call.

What drive do you have in your system? The only drive that I have tested and is common for the mini-freezes is the Sandisk.
