is it possible to install it ?
would it be SUPER fast?
-
1. Yes, it's simple to install it.
2. Yes and no. If you are willing to spend your money to get an ultra expensive super speed ones then yes, but for most SSD on the market, it will be painful to copy files. -
for me i can just reinstall my applications and copy the data i use daily from external drive
any specific brand i need to look for SSD drive for T42P ? with the possibility to move the drive to a new T61P if i buy one in future? -
It seems like you may be in a bind from an upgrade perspective, as your T42P most likely has an EIDE interface for the hard drive while the T61P most likely uses SATA -- different connectors.
-
so there are SSD IDE and SSD SATA?
-
I'm not an expert, but since you'd plug the SSD into an existing computer it would follow that the drive would have to have an interface to match your system's configuration. While it may well be that some SSDs come with interchangeable connectors (?), it does seem from browsing the web that there are PATA (IDE) and SATA versions of the SSDs now available.
Someone with more knowledge of the current field of products available would have to weigh in, but if the connectors aren't both included with the new drive I don't see how they would work across systems with different drive interfaces.
SSD disk on T42P or T61P ?
