At the moment I'm using a battery in the Ultrabay of the T61. I was thinking of getting the "Steath Imaging" 120GB solid state PCMCIA drive for the PCMCIA slot, but I'm beginning to think that device might be vaporware.
So it occurs to me that I could get that Ultrabay SATA drive carrier and an SSD SATA drive and put that in the Ultrabay. I'm running Vista 64.
I'm sort of scratching my head as to what Vista would be able to do with the removable drive. Would it be able to use some for ReadyMumble?
My first thought was to just use it as a hard drive and put media files there which appear to confuse SuperFetch. But then it occurs to me that SuperFetch might not be smart enough not to cache the solid state drive.
Anyone have experience with this?

What are you looking for? Just some performance boost? If that is all you need, get a 4GB or 8GB SSD ExpressCard, and use it for ReadyBoost. SuperFetch and ReadyBoost are different technologies.

I don't want Express Card format. I use that for WWAN all the time.
SSD in T61 Ultrabay or PCMCIA on Vista?
