Hey guys, new to the board but I frequently read posts here as they are informative on Lenovo products. I had a question about an SSD on a T500. I recently bought a T500 with specs below. I was thinking of moving to an SSD drive at some point here in the near future and was curious if you could actually purchase the drive itself? I have looked around but haven't been able to find the specific model numbers of drives that I thought worked with the T500 (one of which was from Samsung).

Is there any drives out there that you guys know of that fit the T500?

Thanks a lot for everyone's contribution to the forums!

I believe that any SSD that is 2.5" or 1.8" would fit the T500. If you do get a 1.8" drive you will need an adapter to make it fit, though. I believe you can buy one from Lenovo for pretty cheap.

Any idea what type it is? Also where does it install? I have been looking into it and noticed there were many different kinds. PCIe seemed to be fairly common as well as eSATA.

After looking on NewEgg, how many pin connecctors, interface type (miniPCEe, SATA I, SATA II, etc.), and interface (MLC, SLC).

    Thanks again for the help!

Pretty much any 2.5" SSD will work in it. Just swap the current HDD or ODD out. MLC and SLC aren't interfaces but flash memory type used in SSDs. The interface will be standard SATA (preferably supporting the SATA/300 spec).

    Hi PharmD,

Wait for the Intel SSD X25-M that is coming out end of this month. This is one of the best SSD in the market.

    The model is "SSDSA2MH080G2C1"
