Hi, I've been a long time lurker but finally decided to post. I have an x201, and I'm using an Intel X-25 M G2 SSD 80gig, and my hard drive assessment score in Windows 7 Pro is only 5.9. What is everyone else getting who uses an SSD drive? I've upgraded the firmware to 2CV102HD and reran the assessment, but still 5.9. Is this normal for laptops?
I notice a difference with SSD, but not as much as I was expecting. I did a clean install of 7 pro x64, using latest drivers.
Thanks for listening.

The windows benchmarking program is pretty well useless. You should run something like HDTune, it will give you far more accurate and detailed results. www.hdtune.com/

Use a HD benchmark program to gauge the speeds though -
Are you sure AHCI has been set in BIOS? -
-
The score depends on the ahci driver you use. Are you using the Windows 7 built-in one, or the Intel one?

My Intel G2 80GB SSD gets 7.7 in the WEI in Win7 Professional 64-bit. Although there is some variation in WEI scores, 5.9 seems too low to be random variation.
You probably want to check whether your SSD is performing correctly using some hard drive or SSD benchmark - AS SSD benchmark is a good one. -
I also get a 7.7 for my Intel 80GB G2. Windows 7 Pro 64 bit using the Intel driver. My Kingston SSD, however, gets a 5.9

EDIT: here's the driver I used http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18859&ProdId=2101&lang=eng This is for x64. Here's the link based on your particular OS: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Chipsets&ProductLine=Chipset+Software&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Rapid+Storage+Technology+%28Intel%C2%AE+RST%29 -

6.8 for my 64GB Samsung SLC (100 read, 80 write). As others have said though the WEI is notoriously unreliable.
