I am considering going with the T60 with 256 ATI video card and the SXGA screen.

Since I want the mobility of a 14" screen, the rep said this is the best Lenovo display they have to offer. I know this screen is only 150 nits (compared to 200 for the "Z" and 300 for the Maxbrite).

Can anyone who has viewed this screen offer me guidance. I have a friend who has the "Z" and I think the display is just okay.

Also, compared the screens such as the Sony SZ160 with x-brite would this display feel like a HUGE let down?

    Thanks

If you have an Office Depot around you might be able to do a side-by-side. Probably not specifically the SZ160 vs. T60 but they'll probably have something from each out on the floor. You could do a really generic thinkpad matte vs. sony gloss comparison just to get a rough idea.

I did this last weekend, compared a 200nit T43 to some sony model (don't remember which one... wasn't an sz I know that) but there's definately a big (huge, IMO) difference between the two.

Which one is better is completely subjective and totally dependant upon where you plan to use your laptop (outdoors, lots of windows, office complex, at home), so I won't even go there. I would just say definately check it out in person if you can, doing so was real informative for me.

I read your excellent review. However the Flexview and SXGA screens are different animals. Have you actually spent time with the 14" SXGA display? - I would love your opinion...
