....how does the T43 work at 1024 as an XGA?
Would the SXGA be a waste if set to 1024?
Right now I use an HP which goes to 1280 at 1024 and make the Icons and menus bold (personal Preference)

you want to get sxga screen resolution but run it at xga? -
I think that's what he's saying. If you want XGA resolution, buy a native XGA screen. If you want SXGA resolution, buy a notebook with an SXGA screen. LCDs are always best when displaying in their native resolution.

You do know that in Windows you can change the DPI settings to make things bigger.
Go to Display Properties -> Settings -> Advance,
change DPI settings to 120 to make things 25% larger.
This setting works very well for me with a 14" SXGA+ screen.
It is nice to have the extra desktop space.
Using XGA resolution on a SXGA+ LCD will make things look very fuzzy.
SXGA would make everything too small for me....
