In my Y420p, I have the Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5" SATA III SSD +24G SSD & 1TB HDD SATA II HDD via Ultrabay
Since I have a 500GB SSD would the +24G SSD cause conflict or problems, like in the 3DMark test or other extensive programs? If so is there a way to remove the +24G SSD?

    Here are my full specs:
    Lenovo Ideapad Y410p -Intel Core i7 4700MQ, DDR3 16GB Memory -Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5" SATA III SSD +24G SSD - 1TB HDD SATA II HDD via Ultrabay - DVDRW via Ultrabay - Single/SLI Nvidia 750M + Intel 4600 HD - 9 cell 7800mAh battery - Windows 10 Pro x64

BTW, what are the best settings, (ones to turn off etc) for the 3DMark test?

Do you want to physically remove the SSD? If so then yes, fairly easily. If you open the laptop with the battery facing away from you, the 24GB SSD is located in the bottom right corner. If sure you knew that however, so did you mean something else?

As for 3DMark specifically, I have no idea. So we'll just have to wait under someone else some around to answer that.

That is good to know and I may do it. My question though is it hurting my performance having it there as I think it is still being used to load programs etc like it did when the HDD was there. Wouldn't it be better to use the Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5" SATA III SSD instead as it is a much better SSD? How would it affect performance, especially when I run 3DMark?

I'm not entirely sure, but that could be possible. To be safe you have two opinions. #1 is physically removing the M.2 drive like I suggested above and #2 is reformatting it so that all its caching data is deleted and you can then use it as a very small addition ssd.

I'd like to remove the 24GB SSD if possible as I think it would interfere with the main 500GB SSD I have. However, I notice that that the 24GB SSD has two folders, a empty Applications folder and a Drivers folder that has several folders in it.
So wouldn't that cause problems if I remove it?

Has anyone here removed their small SSD drive before?

There are no files installed to the small SSD, it merely acts as a cache. The only difference removing the small SSD will make (baring no other changes) is your system will feel more sluggish since it would be relying entirely on the 5400RPM HDD

How is that??? My main storage is the 500GB SSD, whereas the 5400rpm HDD is in the Ultrabay.

Lol notice I said "(baring no other changes)" as in you were still using the default HDD as an OD drive, as my follow up states "since it would be relying entirely on the 5400RPM HDD." In your case nothing whatsoever would change, you would just have the option to add up to an extra 256GB of storage in that slot.
