I found this on the Thinkpad forum. Firmware update is available for Samsung SSD which Lenovo have been shipping. I haven;t tried the update but would hopefully provide a boost.

The following links were also posted on the Thinkpad forum which might be relevent. Seems to be more details on how how Samsung recovers dirty bytes vs Indilink:

I installed the firmware update some weeks ago on my X200. No boost or noticeable change. Even ran HD Tune a few times after the update. Numbers are about the same as before.
The summary of changes is pretty vague as well. But usually I always update firmware and BIOS. So far so good - no issues. Knock on wood. -
Very nice, thanks for the update. Does this mean that with the latest firmware the Samsung PB22J drives support TRIM? I can't see any listed changes on Lenovo's firmware download page.

I did the firmware update on my drive and using CrystalDiskInfo to check whether TRIM is enabled, shows it's not. So unfortunately we'll have to manually trim our drives.
Since then, Samsung has posted firmware updates on their site, but they are for the 2.5" drives.
