I've decided to go with the 40Y8725 Slim UltraBay adapter for my T60 for storage not needed on my on-board SSD as well as for back-ups (thanks ZaZ!).

My question is why are people buying SATA II drives for these adapters since the T60 can't benefit from SATA II speeds? Along those lines, any recommended drives for my adapter would be welcome.

Also, should any special consideration be given to the selection of the secondary HD given my on-board G2 X-25M SSD? I'm assuming that the fact that I have an SSD will not affect which drive I choose for use in the UltraBay but I just want to be sure.

Finally, my SSD is 80GB. I'd like to go as large as possible for the UltraBay drive. Again, I assume this won't be an issue since the drive being used as the back-up is much larger.

    Thanks in advance.

I've searched the forums and see that the Hitachi 7k500 is recommended due to speed and quiet operation. Anyone have opinions on using this drive in the UltraBay for back-up of my SSD and media storage?
