I pretty much baby all my notebooks even if they are ThinkPads and it got me wondering does brightening the screen kill the screens life? Also does brightening the screen reduce battery life a lot, I really like the T410s, but the battery life could be better. Does brightening the screen to lets say 50%, which is really really bright cut battery life by how much, 15 mins, 30 mins?

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
How much screen brightness affects battery life depends on both the panel and the laptop, but it can definitely be significant. I do about 6W idle on my X200T at brightness 1; that'll get me some 9-10 hours runtime. At brightness 15, I do about 10W, which is nearly a 100% increase in power draw; that'd get me about 5-6 hours runtime.
Obviously on a system that pulls 20W at idle and low loads, 4W is much less significant. On a 12" netbook, that 4W might be more significant. -
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
I don't think brightening the panel will kill it, or adunno if it has been observed if that affects LED panels. I know brightening my L13 panel kills my battery life even though it is LED.
