I read a review that stated the screen for the X61S is 20% brighter than the X61. Is this accurate?
According to the Lenovo site the X61 has the following screen:
12.1" XGA TFT, 2x3 Ultraconnect II antenna
And the X61S:
12.1" XGA TFT, 2x2 UltraConnect II antenna
It seems the same to me. Please advise...![]()
Also, besides a longer battery life, any other benefits of the X61s over the X61?
I like the fact that I can configure the X61 with a 2.4GHz processor.
Thanks,
PJ

um, my x61s just arrived yesterday lol, anyways I was in the same situation as you were, x61 or x61s.
I picked s because it is indeed brighter, until now I have used inspiron 6000 and I absolutely can't stand any brightness setting less than max(i think inspiron had about 170nit?) which is comparable to x61s, so that was my biggest reason. But having used x61s quite awhile, actually i found it doesn't take long to get used to dimmer brightness setting...lol
other than that i heard battery life is about 30minutes longer and its lighter because of the lcd screen, which apparantly is lighter, but I doubt you will really feel the difference. i suppose x61 is faster -
You need to get the ultralight screen.
