I have a Lenovo T61 laptop and I just had to get the hard drive replaced because the old one was corrupted. Recently since I got it back, the screen brightness changes from the minimum to the maximum on its own. I don't think it happens when it is plugged into the charger. It is annoying!!! Any thoughts??
    Thanks

    welcome to the forum!

there's a setting in the BIOS to change this.

press F1 at boot to enter the BIOS.   navigate to config > display > brightness and change it to high.

In addition, you can check the screen brightness settings in Power Manager, to set the screen backlight automatically when you plug in/unplug your Thinkpad.
