When I set the screen brightness to a certain level, it changes back to maximum brightness on restart. Is there a way to make the brightness setting “stick”?

    I’m using Windows XPP

    Thanks.

Usually it defaults to what it is set at in the power manager.

Ah, thanks. I've been wondering the same thing. Just need to tinker with this power manager to have my Flexview start at 1/2 brightness. Ty ty.

No, it ignores the power manager setting completely. It's really bothersome... Anyone has any ideas?

    Thanks again.

My situation is even more bizarre. I have screen brightness set to 5/7 on battery, 7/7 on AC in the Power Manager. Every time when I am running on AC, the screen brightness reverts to 5/7, it's as if the computer is using the "on battery" power profile.

I had the same issue but after an updated Power Manger it went away.

Z, is right although to change your default brightness level you need to go to Control Panel. Select "Power Options", select brightness in the "Plugged In" category. Change your slider, select save and viola that's your default brightness setting when you boot into Vista.

p.s. my bad, I didn't realize you guys were talking about XP. :p
