I was just browsing the Internet on my T61 when I noticed the screen looked a bit weird. After a couple more minutes, I minimized the Internet, and I noticed there was some image of the Internet burned onto the desktop. I could see the Yahoo search bar and Internet Explorer toolbar on the top of the desktop wallpaper. After shutting it down, waiting a few minutes, and turning it back on, the problem seems to have dissipated.

Well that was pretty scary. Is this normal? I just got my ThinkPad a few days ago and haven't given it much use up to this point.

I've had my T61p for over a month and I have only had this problem once. It's not screen burn though. Screen burn is if your screen was totally black or your PC was turned off but you could still see an image on it.

My issue was that I would be using an application and when I switched between windows, one of the icons in the application would stay on the screen and no matter what I did, i couldn't get rid of it. Definitely a bit strange indeed.

Could be a memory thing? Or a Windows thing? I dunno....

i think it's a ghosting problem. i used to have it with a Phillips HDTV monitor. you will have it when u leave your browser there (untouched) for a long period of time as your monitor becomes quite warm. yep, it will go away when u shut it off and let the monitor cool down a bit. (quite annoying)

i heard that LCDs don't seem to have the image-burning problems. is it true? if it is, then what's the use of screensavers for it? :) just my thought...
