Hey all, I'm debating between the X220 and X220t. Does anyone know how the screen quality compares between the two (contrast, color)? I am getting the IPS option for sure, and want to occasionally use the tablet for photoshop work. I'll be working mostly indoors. I am aware of the reputation of Gorilla glass but does it reflect too much to be used indoors? I'd like to get the tablet but would not do so at the expense of the screen quality.

Do you need touchscreen? Then you get touchscreen, if you don't then you need regular X220.

I imagine an Ipad would be a good comparison.
    That is fine for indoors.

If the X220T with gorilla glass looks like the ipad screen than that is a very nice screen! Gorilla glass is also on the iPhone 4 as well I believe. It is quite scratch resistant.

However, I would like the multitouch feature so I wonder how much degradation in screen quality is the multitouch version?

I wish someone would make a good screen comparison!

Nobody has one, which makes it tough to compare.

Do you need touch/multitouch capabilities for all around work? Because if is strictly for photoshop, I would be wary. You'd be better of with small&slim Wacom Bamboo as a companion. Working with photo manipulation myself I can't imagine working with Photoshop with any kind of tablet device comfortably. I don't really believe X220 could be this much different.

I think the tablet will be very useful in post processing photos in photoshop. That's what I'm getting it for. It will make photoshop a lot easier and faster to use than a mouse. There is absolutely no disadvantage to the new tablet other than cost:

    -same processors (unlike before)
    -approx. the same weight
    -thinner than X220
    -similar battery life

I was debating between the T420s with Nvidia GPU, X220, or X220T. After reading the reviews, i have my heart set on the X220T.

Here you're assuming that the Multi screen option (for multitouch AND active digitizer) and the Outdoor screen option (for only active digitizer) has the exact same image quality. Granted both the multi and outdoor screens are standard with IPS, whereas the IPS is an upgrade for the x220 series, the folks on this forum haven't come to a conclusion yet whether they offer the same display quality (what with the multitouch and digitizer overlay).

Since AFAIK Gorilla Glass isn't available yet, I don't think anyone has any info at this point.

You'll probably just need to watch the Lenovo Blogs for information; hopefully they will post something at some point.
