    Dear guys,

I am using Lenovo T61 (IBM Thinkpad) I have a question regarding Screen resolution changed.
Normally, I'm satisfying with the resolution 1400 by 1050 pixels with arrange a lot of shortcut I preference to use.

However, every time I connect my laptop to LCD projector, have changed to 1024 by 768 pixels and the shortcut icons that I have arrange as what I want has become scattered

I find a hard time to fix this manually every time I unplug LCD projector from my laptop. So, would you guys please advise me how to maintain screen resolution on 1400 by 1050 with arranged shortcut icons after I unplug LCD projector please?

    Thank you in advance.
    Regards,

It's changing the resolution because you're cloning the display, so since the LCD has a max of 10x7, it can't clone over a 14x10 screen so it downsizes your screen. So the best way to prevent messing up your desktop is to change the mode to 'Extend', or 'Projector Only' (Win+P)

Edit: actually if you have an nvidia card, try googling nvidia pan & scan.

Thank sir for helping me to figure out, I will try it and come back if any further query. One more thing, based on our experiences, are there any applications to freeze shortcut icons no matter what resolution we changed?

    Thank you,

Sir, I have tried to mode "Extend" and "LCD Only" but it's not working.
Yet, I haven't nvidia card, so I not able to try this option.

If you have more advice, I am happy to try so.
    Cheers,

Yeah, I would recommend running "Extended Desktop" too if you don't want your screen resolutions to change.
