    Hi all!
I was just wondering if anyone could help me. I am not a huge gamer so I am not sure if there is a solution to my problem. When I run a number of games and childrens programs it opens and plays in a small square in the middle of my screen. It doesn't fill the screen. Does anybody know how to fix this? I have a r61i 15.4 inch wide screen. Any help would be great thanks. Paul

There might be video settings within those games or programs that allow you to select Full Screen instead of Windowed Mode? That's my guess.

Yeah only one bit of software I have has the that option to change settings. The rest play in this annoying little square! My partner has a windscreen Compaq and they play full screen on hers.

You should try DXWND, you can set the program's resolution to whatever you want it to..
What I'm not so sure about, is if it only supports DirectX based programs, heck, give it a try... Google for it.

There might be a setting in the BIOS about expanding the display to fill the screen. If this is enabled then the computer will automatically stretch the display to fill the screen.

Note that if the software was designed for a 4:3 aspect ratio then stretching to fit widescreen will result in distortion.

I just tried this, during normal running of the computer, ie no programs running, pressing the fn and spacebar shrinks the screen to exactly the size of what the programs would run in. It's really bizarre. I've fiddled around with resolution and screen settings. Just cant get them to fill out.
