*sigh* so im changing the HD on my t61p and I'm trying to take the flexcage off the old HD and put it onto the new one, and i've been sitting here for the last half hour trying to get one friggin screw off. I dont mind the time that much, and I've been able to move it about a quarter turn, but the screw is nearly stripped and I'mnot quite sure what I'll be able to do if it becomes stripped! *sigh* did they really have to skimp on sturdy screws?

any ideas would be greatly appreciated

yep its stripped jesus. I know it sounds like im retarded but I've been as careful as possible not to strip it, as soon as I feel it give but not move I stop, but the metal strips off so easily and it screwed so tight, I'm really not sure what to do now :-/

well, I'd wedge something underneath the screw while you back it out (like a small straight screwdriver blade) and extract it. It won't hurt to only have three screws in the new drive. You most likely stripped the threads in the old hard drive, not the screw, so you may be able to reuse it.

You can also try using thin tweezers (depending on how recessed the screw is).

wasn't able to get the screw out, but I called Lenovo and they are sending me a new bottom attachment thing to put on the new HD, so everything turned out fine ^_^ Thanks for all the advice!
