I have noticed that I am losing screws, well a lot of screws from my T61P. I am missing the hard disk plastic cover screw, it has fallen off somewhere and I have no idea where it has gone. Does anyone know where I can pick up a spare other than Lenovo? Any idea on what size screw this is?

You and I know that it is very unlikely the screws "fell off." More like you removed the HDD and either stripped the screw head by forcing the wrong size tool on it or you lost it. BTW if you call Lenovo they can get you another screw so no need to be dancing around the truth.

Actually I have lost a couple screws from the bottom of my computer. Today, my hard disk plastic cover fell off and I have never replaced the hard disk (or even opened it up). I have no reason to lie on an internet forum about screws falling off my computer, I was just wondering if there was a place that I could get the screw in question relatively quickly. Thanks for the advice with lenovo.

OK we believe you. Simply call Lenovo and tell them what you need. I think there would be no other source for screws.

Use a dab of loctite on it or super glue when you get new screws.

    BTW I said a dab, not slather...lol

Ya you will if you use a dab of loctite/super glue, it's been used in many different applications including laptops in which I have been able to remove the screws without stripping.

" I think there would be no other source for screws."

Lenovo sells an massive screw collection for seven dollars.

If you get the screw kit from lenovo the screws have a dab of a loctite material on them.
