Whew... FYI in case this helps anyone else.

I have a core i5 128gb Yoga that I added 8gb and a second 128gb SSD (crucial M4 mSata from Amazon) last October. Out of the blue, my second SSD just disappeared... was nowhere to be found, not in Explorer, not in device mgr or disk management. I removed it, plugged it in a USB enclosure I have and the drive appeared just fine through USB. I ran chkdsk, etc. reinserted, etc. all to no avail.

Anyway, it's finally fixed and being recognized properly... all thank you to this thread Why did my SSD "disappear" from my system? - Crucial Community from Crucial.com. which involves a combination of power cycles and boot to BIOS.
