    Hi,

I've had my Y580 for almost two months and am very happy with it. The Fhd display is great and gaming is easy with this setup.

A few days ago I started having some problems with the colors. Solid colors work ok, but as soon as you have gradients like fog, or human skin tones etc it just messes up. At first it would disappear after reboot but now it's stuck. I tried changing color profiles and even did a full factory reinstall with the onekey recovery. But nothing helps.

It looks like I'm going to have to send it back but it still feels software related to me?

I attatched some photos of the problem, any one recognises this issue?

    Thanks
    /Martin

if it would disappear after reboot, and you did a restore, it should be running in 32bit color mode. so maybe it's not software.

next thing i would do is reset the bios by taking out the battery, unplug, and holding the power button.

if that doesn't work, check the lcd connector next to the fan. when you remove the access panel, it's at 7 o'clock position next to fan. nudge it a little to make sure it's secure.

    if all fails, RMA.

    Link, you are my hero!

I've had similar problems with desktops and it's usually the cable, although discolouring is more severe and uniform. I simply had no idea that the cable for the lcd was so accessible! Can't believe support didn't tell me this, that's the kind of stuff they should know...
Again, Big thanks, where I am right now it would have been a real hassle to get it to a service center and I'm happy I don't have be without it :)
