Alright...Here is the scenario...I ordered my Yoga 10 on 12/31/2013. They claimed that it would be shipped on the 3rd of Jan...Well, obviously that didn't happen. I waited until Jan 6th and it still hadn't shipped. I called and they said all the typical things they say...you know how it goes. Well, I got an email the next day (12/7/14) stating that it had shipped and would be here on the 9th. Great...
So, They had taken out the $308.51 the same day I ordered the the tablet..but yesterday as I was looking at my bank account, I noticed that the 308 dollars was back in my account. No evidence of them taking it out or putting it back in...NOTHING. All the money is there...why would they take it out, then put it back? I'm picking up my tablet from the UPS store tomorrow. I was told that they take it out after it ships....I mean...I have full intentions to pay them but I don't feel like calling because they pissed me off! Anyone else go through anything similar?

Welcome to the forum!
Lenovo places an initial "hold" on one's card once the order is placed, but it gets released and then the full amount charged post-shipment.
Expect to see that charge in a day or two. -
Good to know, thank you! I'll probably never order from them again though.

The OP got the machine far quicker than a lot of people who ordered over Black Friday weekend. A few days delay in shipping is a great performance for Lenovo!

My last two ThinkPads (W520 and W530) were ordered directly from Lenovo (unlike all my previous machines) and I had no delays, in fact they arrived sooner than I expected them, though I did experience the confusion with funds withdrawal on the card. But that was before I heard Lenovo changing their supply lines. Could that switch maybe have something to do with delays?

lol that's nothing compare to most people who ordered thinkpads. my took just over a month to get to my house.

The last laptop I ordered direct was a T61 in Jan 08. I wanted the T9300 that was just released with Intel graphics but they didn't have a board. I didn't mind waiting but the next day they offered me a free nVidia upgrade. I thought they were doing me a favor... but naturally the board failed.
Ironically I wouldn't have cared if it took two weeks or two months and looking back they knew the nvidia boards were failing in january 2008 so never should have suggested it.
I did eventually get it fixed post-warranty, but not until after I had replaced the laptop.with one that had the updated gpu. -
Got my thinkpad yoga quite fast. It shipped more than a week earlier than expected ship date which was surprising. This the first time I've ever done business with a major company that ships from China which is surprising. Not sure if this a common practice among other companies. What would happen if I ordered direct from Sony? Would it also ship from somewhere in Asia or from within North America?
Seriously, Lenovo?
