I'm reading the contract e-mailed to me. It says that
"This Service is not available for consumer purchase in
California and Florida."
Umm..does that mean I'm not covered??
-
Do you live in one of those states? It's an insurance product, so it may not be valid there.
Lenovo Protection Services Agreement -
Yeah, I live in California.
I bought the 3 year on-site with accidental. -
I'm in Florida and I did not buy any warranty
-
-
So how do i get a refund
-
Nvm..I'll call tomorrow:
"If You do not accept these terms, do not use the Service. Instead, promptly notify Lenovo for a complete
refund. To request a refund, You should, within thirty (30) days of receiving this package, call Lenovo at 1-
866-42-THINK (1-866-428-4465) and request a refund or return this Agreement and Your Invoice together
with a written request for a refund of the fees You paid to:..." -
Uh, what? Hopefully I'm not understanding this. Are they saying that if you live in California, you can't have a warranty?
-
Well, I'm gonna call tomorrow but that's how it stands as it is...
PiSsEd -
Haha, that sucks if thats really the case! My T400 is supposed to be here tomorrow by 10am, and its definately going back if thats the case. Sooooo close to getting my hands on it!
-
Maybe you should call early tomorrow (since Lenovo is closed today?) so you can refuse the shipment or accept it. -
The regular warranty is allowed it all 50 states. It is the accidental protection warranty that isn't aloud in Florida or California.
-
That would still suck.
-
-
That's absurd; why do they even offer it on the site if the billing address is for California.
-
I think it is the different regulations in different states, Lenovo can't really do much about it.
-
Contact you local representatives to the state congress and complain!
-
Speaking of this, what does accidental protection actually cover and will it differ by state (California and Florida excluded)? For example, if dropped it from the 4th floor of a balcony from a hotel and it busted to pieces, would I ship back the broken bits and get a brand spanking new (refurbished) laptop?
-
Hey Keltix do you work for a business or have a friend that is associated with a business?
If so, you can get covered by ThinkPad Protection.
All you have to do is call Lenovo Customer Service and tell them that the laptop is used for business purposes, and you'll be covered. -
That would cover with accidental too, correct? -
Well, I just called and he asked me if my account was for personal or business use. I told him it was for business and he asked me for the my phone number, which he didn't find. So he asked for my order number, which he did find.
He followed by asking my business name and estimated number of employees. I suppose he then converted the account into a business type. I guess I am now covered? -
The CSR that I talked to said I would be covered if it was for business use.
The person I talked to only asked for the business name and said i was covered. -
-
-
it's not like i gave a phony business name or anything..in fact my stepdad (owner of business) uses the laptop (or does he, you dont know!) so I dont see why it's fraud... -
This has me concerned about the T400 I ordered on 9/12/08 with 3 year ThinkPad Protection. I live in California. I do have a business and ordered the computer with my business name. From what I've read in this discussion it sounds like my ThinkPad will be covered. Is that correct? Guess I should call Lenovo.
