Thanks, I downloaded that User Guide from Lenovo website some time ago. But Service Manual is what I am looking for... if there is one... please help me find where to download it...

As far as I know, since the ideaPad Y510 is marketed to the consumer market, a Hardware Maintenance Manual has not been released to the public like the ThinkPad ones are.

It's probably proprietary. A lot of them are, like Acer, who don't seem to be interested in handing them out. Is there some issue that needs resolving and why you're after the service manual?

No issues, I just want to keep one in my files, like I have for the T60 and E6400. You'll never know when they'll be handy..

Greets all! I just newly registered with this forum and can hopefully find what I am looking for... I read that the service / shop manual in this thread for the Lenovo Y510 is not available so this I ask - I need a step by step on how to switch out the CD/DVD drive in my notebook as mine is faulty. Lenovo sent a new one but sent no instructions (bummer). Any (proper) help would be really appreciated and if in the mean-time, a service manual has become available - Please let me know where I can get it. Thanks!
