Ive read a bit about this but havent found an answer.

Would there be any problem if my shipping address is different from my billing address?

I ordered my T61 today (actually I had a friend of mine who lives in the U.S. order it for me), the billing address will be his, but the shipping will be someplace else. His card hasnt been charged or the money held yet.

The strange part of this, is that when I first ordered this product and had it charged to my card (from South America) the money was held almost very fast, then released after I cancelled the order.

    once again :

Would there be any problem if my shipping address is different from my billing address?

    Thanks,

It wasn't for me, however, your situation and mine are different.

I had my laptop shipped to my work address, though my billing address is at home. Several years ago, I called my credit card company, and approved my work address as a shipping address, which has removed any problems with ordering items.

The billing and shipping addresses must be in the same customs area. It is one of the worldwide custom rules.

And if the billing and shipping addresses are in the same customs area, as SouthPaw sez, call your credit card company to explain what you're doing... they'll make a note in their file in case they're asked by Lenovo. I did what LoneWolf did, detailed above.
